CCleaner is an amazing program for cleaning all sorts of files from your computer quickly and easily. It's updated often, which is nice, since we all like programs to be up-to-date so we know they'll work on our systems.
I've used it since it first came out, and I trust it completely to do its thing without supervision by me, although it offers the ability to review the files it will remove. I used to review the files, but I've never found anything in its list that I didn't want it to get rid of.
Note: I use this program to clean out unwanted files on my computer. I haven't used it to clean out my registry or manage my startup items, but I'm sure others do, and can comment on that. My preference for registry and startup items is to get in there manually and do my thing.
When you first run the program, go through all of its menus and make sure you have it set up the way you like. In other words, check what it says it will clean out and be sure you want that removed. In my case, I prefer to empty my recycle bin manually, so I unchecked that box in CCleaner. I also like my last download location to be remembered, so I clear that box.
There are two tabs to look at when checking what CCleaner will clean. Be sure and look over the Applications tab as well, since it will remove logs from Zone Alarm, for example, and some of us wish to do that manually so we have time to review those.
All in all, this one is a ten in my book!
